Why Fire Inspections are so important..
Fire alarm systems must be inspected, tested and maintainedregularly to comply with the codes and regulations of yourlocal and/or state jurisdiction. The codes and standards set forthby the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) are followed toensure life and property are protected in the event of a fire.AFA’s licensed inspectors will test and inspect your system inaccordance with these codes and standards to ensure the followingcomponents are properly functioning:
Manual pull stationsNotification appliances including horns and strobesSmoke and heat detectorsDuct detectorsAnnunciator panelsTamper devicesMain alarm panelCarbon monoxide detectorsAssociated communication equipment
Why do I Need to Have a Fire Alarm Inspection? An annual fire security inspection can make sure the alarmsystem is in proper working order. The best time to see ifthere is an issue with the system is when the inspection isbeing completed. Also, the National Fire Protection Associationrequires that a third-party fire inspector conduct a test of thesystem at least once annually. Depending on your specific buildingcode and occupancy type, you may have to be tested multiple times per year.
