Inside the install: how CWC Security put an entire 55+ community on Paxton Net2
Paxton Access, the manufacturer behind the Net2 and Paxton10 access control platforms, has published a case study on CWC Security’s installation at Encore Atlantic Shores, a 240-townhome community for residents 55 and over in Eastport, NY. As a Paxton Silver Partner, CWC Security specified, installed, and commissioned the system, and we continue to support the property today.
Here’s a closer look at the job from the installer’s side: what we used, how we handled the gates, and what’s next for the property.
What we installed
Solving the gates
Both the front and rear gates were relay-controlled, so instead of replacing the gate operators, we used Net2 triggers and actions to bring them onto the system.
- Front gate: residents enter with their keyfobs. Visitors use the video intercom to call the security booth, and every call is logged as a Net2 event.
- Rear gate: used for deliveries and garbage collection, and opened by the property manager through Net2 when needed.
One system across separate networks
Different parts of the property ran on different internet networks. Net2 let us bring them all under one central management point, so the property manager controls the whole community from one place instead of juggling separate systems.
Access that matches how the community works
- Clubhouse: permission-based access, with reports showing who entered and when.
- Seasonal pool access: temporary summer access for non-member residents.
- Pool staff: separate access to the basement equipment room.
- Vendors: custom access levels so contractors can get in during low-staffing hours.
Faster commissioning, hands-on training
We commissioned the site with the Paxton Installer app, which adds devices without hand-recording serial numbers, so setup is faster and less error-prone. After installation, we trained the property manager on schedules, controls, and permissions so her team could manage access day to day without calling us for routine changes.

What’s next
The community plans to add more doors to Net2, including the tennis courts and indoor pool areas, which still use traditional key locks. Because Net2 is modular, those openings can be added to the existing system without starting over.
